Google Adwords Marketing |
||||
Internet Search Marketing One of the best ways to market your business on the internet is by using search marketing provided by Google or Yahoo. Search marketing provides targeted ads to your customers based on what the person is searching for. A monthly budget or daily budget can be set to control the cost of your advertising. Lets assume your company sells computer hard drives. When your ad campaign is setup you create very specific ads that are relevant to your hard drive business. Along with the ads you select a group of keywords that are relevant to both the ads and the sale of hard drives. The combination of the two will allow your ad's to be shown when someone is searching for anything that has to do with hard drives, specifically hard drive sales. This is called targeted advertising. The picture below explains what I am talking about:

The Adwords positioning system. Being in the number one ad spot depends on how well your campaign is setup, and how much you are willing to pay per click. The key to a good Adwords campaign is finding relevant keywords that will trigger your ad. Popular keywords are more expensive because more Adword users want to use them. Google creates a bidding war for keywords so the trick is to find relevant keywords that are not too popular but still related to the product you are selling. For instance if you are selling hard drives a keyword like "drives" would not be good. Even though most hard drives are considered drives you could also be talking about USB drives, DVD-RW Drives, electric motor drives, etc. A better keyword phrase in this situation would be "new computer hard drives ", "replacement computer hard drive", or simply "hard drive" like what is shown. Not only is the keyword "drives" too vague, it would also be too expensive of a keyword. Google Adwords has an incredible user interface as well as statistics on how well your ad campaign is doing. An example of what Google Adwords keeps track of.
Below is an example of a small section of the user interface, this campaign had only run a few hours: |
